All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

 

Found matted and flea infested, in crappy part of town,  Brought to rescue where she was deflea'd, shaved, bathed, dewormed, vaccinated, fixed, and microchipped!  

Abby is a small to medium size dog about 10 lb , the size of a small miniature schnauzer. She has soft curly hair like a Maltese,. she has a small slender body. Just under a year old she is very playful. She loves toys and playing with the other dogs. She is housebroken and uses the doggie door.

 

Good with Some Dogs (No small dogs), Good with Cats, Good with Older/Considerate Kids Only, Good with Adults, Quiet, Does Good in the Car, Requires a yard, Leashtrained, Cratetrained, Likes to play with toys, Likes to be in your lap, Apartment OK, Playful, Timid, Affectionate, Eager To Please, Not good with small dogs

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
