All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This sweet boy is approximately 6 years old and was turned into BARC Animal Shelter by the owner because they were not able to spend the time with him that he deserved. He is friendly and rides well in the car. Corky is a very sweet and loving dog. He has had a dental cleaning in which they had to remove 1 tooth.  He does exhibit protective issues so he will need to be placed in a home that has a regular routine with minimal people coming in and out of the home. He is intelligent, inquisitive but likes nothing more at the end of the day to sit with you to watch some TV. Based on his protective nature - no children please. He is perfect for seniors looking for a companion to keep them company. Won't you be his forever person?

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
