We're sorry you find yourself in the difficult position of surrendering your pet. We know 'real life' happens. Please know, a rescue is the best chance of getting your pet safely into their next home. We will fully vet your dog, bring current on vaccines, heartworm test/treatment/prevention, address any medical needs and screen applicants to ensure (s)he goes to a well qualified home. Once we accept your pet into our program, please honor your commitment to us and your dog. Please do not rehome the dog to anyone else. Once we accept your pet, we start our process of getting a foster home lined up, veterinary and grooming appointments confirmed.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff. We are all volunteers. We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue. We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.

IF YOUR APPLICATION FOR ADOPTION IS APPROVED, WE WILL CONTACT YOU!

If you fail to provide the information requested (Vet and/or personal reference contact information) YOUR APPLICATION WILL BE DENIED.
