All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This little senior's owner surrendered him to a small North Texas shelter because he had an incident of biting. We do NOT believe he is a biter, but will monitor him closely. We believe that he is about 10 years old and appears to have cataracts in his right eye. We will be having his eye evaluated by an ophthalmologist soon. He is heart worm negative, up to date on his vaccinations. He is very sweet and rides well in a car. That's all we know about him for now - but we will update as we know more. We are taking applications for Lucky, however, please understand that he must have his eye appointment before he can be adopted.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
