Ryder needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

UPDATE 11/5/19 ************* Ryder's foster mom says he is the sweetest dog and so eager to please his human. He is crate trained but definitely prefers to sleep with you and roam around while you’re gone. He’s not a chewer and just sleeps in his bed until you get back home. He does much better when he gets to roam free because he is so chill. Ryder needs to be the only dog in a home as he tends to not do so well with other dogs near his human. He does just fine in an apartment, but he definitely prefers to have a yard that he can just hangout in and sunbathe. Ryder is potty trained, knows how to sit, stay, lay down, and picks up on things pretty quick. He loves to be next to his human and constantly give you love. He’s the best cuddle bug and loves the attention just as much. Ryder is very cautious with new people and will bark when he first sees them, but once he warms he is just fine. He takes some time to adjust to new situations and people, but lots of patience and love goes a long way with him. He would be a great addition to a loving home. He has not been around kids so how he reacts is unknown. It's now time to find him his forever home! ****************

This gorgeous 'parti-boy' was 'found' 2 months ago by a citizen who surrendered him to BARC when she suddenly discovered she was 'allergic' to this poodle/Silky mix. Ryder has been treated for HW.... he is as healthy as we can get him.. now, he needs a forever home. Please apply to take this boy home.... he bonds with his caregiver and doesn't like to share!!
