All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Landon has been treated for his heartworms and is now looking for his forever home.  His adopter should plan to keep Landon 'low and slow' until the end of Jun.  this is to prevent any complications from his HW treatment. After that, he will be allowed to 'ramp up'

Although we were told this baby was 2-3 y/o - he's est to be 7 years old and unfortunately heartworm test came back positive. Also has had a dental. We are so glad he was found when he was - this little boy needs our help! **********************************

This poor baby was found in horrible conditions. His hair was so matted with twigs and feces, and he was covered in urine and dirt - it was awful! The finders had to bath him 3 times to get all the fleas and dirt off of him. They attempted to cut his mats out so that he could at least have some relief from the pulling matted hair. They contacted us and ask us to help find him the BEST new mom and dad. He appears to be fairly young and needs to be potty trained, but he has the sweetest personality. Today is the first day of his new pampered life. Get ready world for Landon!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
