All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This beautiful lady was surrendered while she was in heat.  she's 12!  WHO DOES THAT??

Nasty mammary tumors, cloudy eye, worn out ears and rotten teeth, she's lived a life of pure neglect.  She deserved a better family than the one that held her captive for 12 years. 

this old gal is going to know happiness, love, kindness, tenderness and care in her final days.  

We've removed her rotted teeth, medicated her ears and eyes, removed some of the tumors, but there's still more.  

My heart breaks for precious Dori.  I don't expect anyone to adopt her.  She can live out the rest of her days in our loving arms.  But, If you want to give this precious angel all the love she deserves, please apply.  The adoption fee will be waived to the right home.  

the RIGHT home is one where the adopter is home full time.  A Senior.  someone with lots of time on their hands and lots of love to give.  NO INGROUD POOL!  Dori doesn't need to be entertained or walked.  She just needs a soft bed nearby and nutritious food 2x a day.  She's house-broke.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
