All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This lady was found in an auto mechanic garage, seeking relief from the 96° heat.  She was flea infested, and exhausted.  The Good Samaritan reached out to us, after having her scanned for a microchip (none)  We picked her up and took her straight to the vet.  She had 'KCS' (Chronic Dry Eye) and will need drops 2x daily for the rest of her life.  She is being treated for a skin infection with antibiotics and medicated baths.  She is on a short course of steroids to help with inflammation.  She is a very gentle quiet girl.  Her stray hold is up Monday, Jun 28.  She is being spayed Tues.  and will be available to a quality adopter shortly thereafter.

We held off publishing her because she was in heat when she came into rescue.  She has been spayed now and is ready to go home.  

She is quiet, chill, loving, happy - she's very sweet!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
