All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This precious old man was found alone at the end of a dead end road in the SE Texas town called Orange.  Finder went door-to-door with him in hopes of locating his owner/home.  No one claimed him.  Finder posted on social media.  No one came forward.  He was surrendered to us.  This baby has cataracts, conjunctivitis, dental calculous, periodontal disease, protein and bacteria in his urine, alopecia, heart murmur (4/6) and luxating patella.

He was given an antibiotic shot, meds for his eyes, and had his last few teeth removed due to rot and infection.

He needs a soft place to land where he can rest in comfort without young puppies harassing him. and without being subjected to the rough handling of small children.

He needs a senior who needs someone to love.

We ran a thyroid test on him and his results were normal.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
