Skippper2 needs a caretaker or foster! Won't you consider helping him get a new start?

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Injured and abandoned at the vets office, xrays revealed his hip was out of socket. He has puncture wounds as well as a broken rib.  This boy was likely attacked by another dog, in addition to being hit by a car.  He suffered rather severe 'road rash' where his genitals were deeply wounded.  We'll get him his surgery and help him heal.

********************************************************************

Skipper has healed from his severe injury and his FHO surgery.  He's a happy playful little boy who can be kinda bossy.  He is full of energy and ready for love!

He will go in the crate to eat, but otherwise does NOT like to be crated.  He is fearful of larger dogs and dominant dogs.  He will do well in a home with a dog that matches his energy level, but is  not overly dominant.

He's 'mouthy' so care should be taken when he is with children.  He doesn't BITE, but he does mouth quite a bit.

He will retreat in fear if another dog reprimands him.
