All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Thanks to the loving care of her foster mom, Lily has made a beautiful transformation.  She has energy, and attitude! She loves her daily walks.  Her bad eye was removed, and her vision is improving in her good eye.  

She still needs to be spayed, so she will be FOSTER-TO-ADOPT.

SHE MUST BE SPAYED BEFORE FEB 15.  The rescue will pay for this.  Take her home.  Love her, and present her to our vet when she's ready.  She will go home with eye meds and will need continued treatment. 

Her adopter should be prepared to medicate her eye daily (3x a day for now)  Her ophthalmologist thinks we can eventually cut this to once a day or maybe even discontinue depending on how well she responds.

Lily may have only one eye and limited vision in her remaining eye but that doesn’t stop her from getting around the house and playing in the backyard. She is quite the cuddle bug also and lives laying in the chair next to her person.

This poor baby was found in deplorable condition.  Starving, flea infested, eye & skin infections, overgrown nails, and matted.  She's been neglected for a long time.  Our volunteer rushed her to our vet where we did comprehensive blood tests and urinalysis.  Will update with results.

She has pain meds onboard and get her whatever she needs.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
