All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Found in 95° heat, roaming outside, severely matted, flea infested and with a badly mangled hind limb, the Good Samaritan who found this pup hoped he had an owner, and posted him in their local FB neighborhood group and lost and found groups as well as nextdoor.com 

after several days, she realized no one wanted this boy.

She reached out to us.  We didn't hesitate!  She dropped him off at our vet where xrays were done and sent to our orthopedic surgeon who recommended either a prolonged course of antibiotics and possibly a prosthesis, or amputation.  

He has suffered enough. We opted for amputation.

He will be available for his new home once he's healed.

He's a very sweet boy.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
