All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Scotty has completed his Heartworm treatment and is now looking for a home that deserves him.

Take him home, love him, get him to our vet for necessary care and treatment.  

This baby was surrendered by a friend of rescue.  She went to visit a distant relative and found they were not caring for their dog properly and insisted he be allowed to be surrendered to a rescue so he could receive proper care.

This boy had more fleas on him that this rescuer has ever seen on a dog.  He had open wounds from scratching, his fur was so badly matted he required sedation grooming.

His toenails were extremely long and his feet hurt to walk on them

We'll learn more about him as he is with us, but at this time, not much is known other than he is so sweet and forgiving.  Even being in the obvious pain he was in, he never tried to bite us.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
