All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This owner surrender came to us from a family that loved him very much.  He, however didn't love dad.  He loved his human kids, and mom.  You know how it is, some people just don't like someone... dogs are the same way.  He would seek pets and love from dad, so he wasn't afraid of him,  but routinely tried to bite dad.  This behavior did not manifest itself with anyone else.

So, the family decided that it was in everyone's best interest to let Hank find a home that didn't stress him out.

So, here he is!!  Looking for love!  He's been well cared for.  

Hank barks at the kids when they roughhouse.  Commotion seems to upset him.  Hank gets along with other dogs and most people.  

Hank loves to be held like a baby to have his tummy rubbed.  Hank still marks, so, a belly band is a helpful tool.  

Hank is having a dental and will go to his foster/foster-to-adopt or forever home after that.

If you want Hank, YOU MUST APPLY.  If you offer to foster him, you MAY be allowed to adopt him within 2 weeks.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
