All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

notes from foster:

Myles has been abused/neglected.  He absolutely cannot go to a home with another dog.  Positively NO CHILDREN  This dog has a bite history.  Myles has no teeth, so he inflicts minimal damage when he bites.  If you startle him, he will react!  His new mom MUST be dog savvy, and know how to handle a reactive dog.  He cannot hear well, and he cannot see well.  He loves cuddle time.

Myles loves outdoor time and would benefit from leash walks.

Several days ago, we drove to Navasota to pick up eight dogs from what we can only describe as a breeder "dump."
The woman who had them passed away. Her elderly husband struggled to care for them.
What we walked into was heartbreaking.
They were in horrible condition –

Severe skin infections
Painful ear infections
Nails so overgrown they curled into their pads
Two are heartworm positive
All needed to be spayed/neutered
Several required full mouth extractions (FME) due to chronic dental neglect
Some came to us with zero teeth
All are frightened, traumatized, and confused
Their suffering is real. Their recovery will be long.

Myles is Heartworm positive and will get treatment.  --Complete
