All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

About Rosa:

Rosa is a gentle, shy 14-month-old Terrier mix looking for a calm and loving forever home. She’s fully vetted, spayed, and microchipped. Rosa is housebroken and well-mannered indoors.

She’s scared of other dogs and will need to be the only pet in the household. Rosa may do well with respectful children who can give her the space and kindness she needs to feel safe.

This sweet girl is quiet and low-key—perfect for someone who wants a loyal companion to share quiet moments and build trust over time.

Requirements:

• No other pets

• Calm, patient home

• Possibly suitable for a home with older or gentle children

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
