All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This tiny girl was being given away on social media. 

"She has lived most of her life in a crate in the garage, so let's assume she will need some help with house training."

I mean, seriously.  Why even GET a dog is this is the life you offer them?!

A 'friend of the rescue' picked this girl up for us and brought her to us.  She was MATTED to the skin.  She was flea infested.  We groomed her, vetted her, chipped her, and are now loving on her!!!  She is a delightfully forgiving, loving pup!  

Star has blended so well into our pack!  she's so beautiful and playful.  It will be hard to let her go, but let her go we will.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
