All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Corny had his dental and has been neutered.  He lost a BUNCH of teeth.. and is on soft food for a few days.  But he feels (and smells) SO MUCH BETTER!.

10 days of antibiotics.  and he'll be great!

This precious boy was surrendered to the shelter by his owners family when owner passed away.  THAT'S NOT HOW YOU HONOR YOUR LOVED ONE!!!  but, I digress...

Cornelius is confused, and sad.  Who can blame him?  All he's ever known or loved is gone.  He is VERY VOCAL!! HE BARKS - A LOT. (cos he's lonely??)  We'll do a full workup on him, including a Senior Panel.  He's already scheduled for a neuter and a dental.  We will absolutely take care of this boy!  Would you like to show him that though the hand that loves him is different, it's still good love?

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
