All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Cora was surrendered to BARC animal shelter to be euthanized by her 'family' 

They were BYB (breeders) who had no problem making money off her puppies but didn't have ANY money to get this little momma the medical care she needed after birthing puppies and presented with a prolapsed uterus.

In true greeder fashion, they kept the puppies and threw mom in the trash.

We immediately tagged/pulled her and drove her straight to our vet who graciously stayed late to perform her emergency spay.   Her life was save and her recovery is going well.

Cora is a delightful little girl who loves cuddles.  She gets along with other dogs and kids.  She is non-reactive to cats.

Yorkie Rescue Houston is a 501(c)(3) charity as defined by the I.R.S.  All donations* are deductible within the limits set by them.  Your donations go toward medical exams, vaccinations, spay & neuter, medications, Heartworm treatment and prevention, supplies, boarding, training.  We rely  100% on donations from the public.  Please consider a becoming a sponsor or monthly donor!  You can send us donations via Zelle to donate@yorkierescuehouston.org

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
