All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Ollie is a beautiful young male, raised in a loving home, but when Mom got remarried, the new husband came with baggage, a yellow lab that was the alpha in this household.  The yellow lab snatched up poor little 6 pound Ollie and they had to pry him out of the lab's mouth.  Needless to say, Ollie had to wear staples at his throat, under his chin for 10 days.  Fully recoverred now.  Needless to say, Ollie has been playing it low key, and not playing with big dogs, in concern of a possible fear developing of large dogs.  Due to Ollie's size and past injury, it is not advisable to place Ollie with large dogs, nor small children.  Ollie is lovable, cuddly, very playful (as a 2 year old should be), loves toys and fetch, he can jump on beds, sofas, etc, he does not appear to have any fears.  Just an all round super dog.  He is a grazer and will eat when he wants, a little here and a little there.  Housetrained is not complete , and still need a little work on that. He will use pee pads when needed, and will do his business outside, but needs more encouragement.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
