Foster-to-Adopt

Fully vetted dogs are available for ADOPTION.  If, due to age or health reasons, the dog is NOT fully vetted, (Heartworm treatment, spay/neutered, surgical etc...) the dog is eligible for FOSTER-TO-ADOPT!  

FTA allows the dog to go to his new family, while the rescue maintains legal ownership and financial responsibility of the dog.

Once the dog has completed their necessary treatment/vetting, the adoption can be finalized.

As a FTA, you would be required to get the dog to our vet (in Spring, TX) for regular visits for vaccinations, spay/neuter appointment , treatments, exams, etc...(the rescue pays for this). You must live within 20 miles of our vet. (non-negotiable)

If this is a problem your application cannot be approved.

You may apply to adopt from us directly from our web site.  Please visit www.yorkierescuehouston.org/forms and submit your application.  Upon review, a volunteer will contact you if there are questions.  Please be as thorough as possible in the answering the questions.  Missing phone numbers, invalid addresses, or other inaccurate data will cause your application to be denied without further processing.

If approved, we will forward your application to the foster for review.  If the foster feels like this is a ‘good fit’, they will contact you to schedule a 'Meet & Greet'  

Should be you approved to 'foster-to-adopt' (FTA), you will be asked to execute a Foster-to-Adopt Contract and submit ½ of the adoption fee.  (Our adoption fee varies by dog and payable by electronic funds i.e. VENMO or cash only.) 

All puppy placements required a home visit

Donations are accepted via paypal

Please be patient if our response time is not as quick as you'd like.  We are all volunteers and do as much as we can when we can.
