All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This owner surrender came to Yorkie Rescue Houston when his dad passed away unexpectedly.  Mom found herself overwhelmed and unable to care for her dogs.  They lived out in the country, but was never let outside due to the risks of wildlife in the area.  As a result, Sammie needs to learn to trust.  He has never worn a leash and this causes him some apprehension.  His adopter will need to be patient helping Sammie overcome his fears.

Sammie is obese, and needs daily walks to help him lose weight.  You can see how this presents a challenge.

 Both Sammie and Brodie have been fully vaccinated,  are on HW prevention and are microchipped.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
