All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Update 1/17/20 ****************************************************************

Georgia has had all her rotten teeth removed. She is starting to feel much better now that she has gotten rid of the rotting teeth and put on an antibiotic to kill the infection. She is a delightful girl who just wants to be with her person. She is learning the rules of the foster's home quickly and proved that she is potty trained and will go outside to take care of her business. She enjoys playing in the late afternoon then will settle down for the evening nap at your feet. **********

This poor senior girl was found wandering the streets. The shelter believed that she is apx 13 years old. She has a small growth on the top of her head and she is in desperate need of dental even though she only has a few teeth. We will get her into the vet to evaluate her health and then take her for a dental cleaning. Not much more is known at this time - we will update as we find out more about the precious senior girl.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
