All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This beautiful boy spent 10 days in the county jail.... something about being 'at large'  

Well, he WAS chipped!! so, the shelter notified the owner and they REFUSED to pick him up!

Poor little dude.  Careless, irresponsible owners, failed to neuter their pet, then failed to confine him.  Hopefully, we got him before he created more unwanted puppies!

He's a vocal boy, loving attention!  But he can be a bit bossy... that may be the testosterone influence or it may be his nature.  Either way, he'll calm down after his neuter (1/13)

His original name was 'Chewy' but since they didn't want him, I don't imagine he has a good warm fuzzy associated with that name.... so... our groomer named him ROSCOE!

Roscoe has shown some dominant behavior around other dogs!!! so, he should be adopted as an only dog

He does NOT tolerate anyone 'messing' with his face.  not the groomer and not mom's kisses!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
