All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This tiny girl was surrendered when her sphincter incontinence became too much to manage.  We will have a consult with our surgeon for treatment plan and update.

UPDATE

Allie had surgery to enlarge her anus.  She is on stool softener/laxative until she heals.  

Her adopter must be prepared to help this little girl maintain proper elimination and hygiene.  She will likely requires stool softeners for the rest of her life, but there is a chance she can manage without it.  Only time will tell.

She has required enemas on a regular basis to help her live some-what comfortably.  We are hopeful the surgery has addressed this concern, but again, only time will tell.

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
