All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Update:

His spinal cord is partially severed, and he will likely not walk. 

We will help him learn to use his wheelchair and live a great quality life.

This tiny boy on stray hold from Harris County was hit by a car and suffered a broken back.

He drags his hind legs behind him, however our vet said he does have deep pain sensation.  So he is at our surgeon's in Nederland for surgery.

We are hopeful we can help him walk again.

He can have BM without assistance, however he needs to have his bladder manually expressed.  He wears a 'belly band' to capture any accidental 'leakage'  He will come with a wheelchair, and a couple of 'drag-bags'  to wear to help prevent any abrasions or 'road rash'

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
