All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

This puppy was surrendered to the BARC animal Shelter in Houston.  Flea infested and his feet dyed green, we are so thankful we were able to get this boy into rescue.  BARC Aged him at 1 year.  We believe him to be substantially younger.

He's extremely fearful.  

He tolerated grooming very well.  Marty will NOT go to a home with children.  It is our belief he was tormented by hateful children.

He is fearful of other dogs.  We prefer he go to a home where he will be the only dog.  Or live with another dog who is submissive and gentle.

Marty's perfect home will be a Work-From-Home or Stay at home mom.  No CHILDREN UNDER 15.  NO LARGER (over 10 pounds) or ALPHA dogs.  

This baby has been traumatized!  

He is a puppy.  NO SENIOR CITIZENS will be eligible.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
