All applications from 2023 have been purged. 

All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Banjo did fine with the cats in his foster home, but was adopted and returned when the neighbors cats were roaming outside and he tried to chase them.  So we will change his profile to say 'no cats'

This boy was posted on Facebook as FOUND and finder requested 'rescue assistance'  We answered the call.  We took him to our vet and found he was microchipped!  We opened a 'found dog' report with the chip company, and sadly the owner failed to reclaim.

We fully vetted  him and named him.  He's looking for a forever home.  He's very sweet.  He has an eye infection we are medicating.  Get's along well with other dogs.

UPDATE - Banjo had his eye removed.  The orb was shrinking and causing problems.

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
