All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Calvin was pulled from the Pearland Animal Shelter. He was severely flea infested.  He was dangerously anemic. He had giardia. Calvin was extremely fearful and it was obvious very quickly that he had a rough life before rescue. With lots of love and care he has come out of his shell in a big way. He  is a happy and playful little love bug and his hair is growing back in nicely. He gets along well with other small dogs and loves attention and being snuggled and pet.  He plays with toys and loves napping in soft beds. He’s very quiet so when you do hear the occasional bark out of him, it will make you laugh! He does well going potty outside throughout the day…he’ll do well with an early riser who can get him outside early because when morning comes he’s got to go quick. He is great with children who are gentle and calm and know to be gentle.  Calvin seems to be mostly hearing impaired…he does startle when woken because he just doesn’t hear you coming. But a soft little pet or blow to wake him gently does the trick. Calvin is a sweet heart who deserves all the love and attention in the world after what he’s been through and will make a wonderful companion!

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
