All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Paypal, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Found abandoned in a field, she was picked up as a stray and held at the Baytown animal shelter for 10 days waiting for an owner who never came to pick her up.  She was immediately taken to our vet, then our groomer then, off to surgery for spay and a small mass removal. She is a precious little petite girl with a giant personality. She is slightly underweight.  Doc said she has luxating patellas, but is not 'bothered' by that. not much is known about this sweet girl.  We do not guarantee house broke, crate trained or other behaviors. We got off her labs back, and sadly, she is heartworm positive. She will be available Foster to adopt. The rescue will pay for her treatment. you may take her home and love her through this disease

Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
