All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

BITE HISTORY

This poor boy was on a bite hold at BARC due to biting the good Samaritan who tried to help him!

His fur was badly matted and causing him a great deal of pain!  We sprung him from doggie jail the moment he eligible to leave!  Straight to the vet!

Sedation grooming, neuter and badly needed dental!

We hope this baby is on the road to a happy healthy life.  He's bitey.  He'll need time to decompress and learn how to live with love

Due to his bite history, NO CHILDREN.  Strong pack leader only!  

No 1st time dog owner.  Adult home only.  NO KIDS, NO GRANDKIDS

He has relaxed quite a bit and able to give and receive affection, however he resists being 'managed' and will still bite if backed into a corner (figuratively)

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
