All dogs listed here are available for adoption from Yorkie Rescue Houston.  Our goal is to ensure our rescued pets go to their forever home and never end up back in the system.  To that end, an application is required on all potential adopters.   Our adoption fee varies by dog.  We accept electronic funds via VENMO or Zelle, or cash only.

Puppies too young to be spayed/neutered are available for Foster-to-Adopt only.  A FTA contract is required.

Maggy was rehomed a couple of years ago when she was given away by her original owner in League City.  The people who took her rehomed her.  The people that took her at that time, RETURNED her when they left the country.  This girl has never felt the love and confidence that a real home gives a dog.

She is looking for HER FOREVER home.  Not 'until I have a baby' home.   Not 'until i get married' home.  Not 'until the kids to to college' home.  FOREVER!  Until she draws HER LAST BREATH!

This is a lifetime commitment

Public Service Announcement:
Effective Immediately - Due to limited resources, we will now hold FOUND (stray) dogs for 5 days. After that, they will be eligible for ADOPTION.

Please note that we have no shelter where our rescues can be viewed. All of our dogs are in private homes being fostered until they find their forever home. The first step in the adoption process is to fill out an application.

Please understand,

Yorkie Rescue Houston has no paid staff.  We are all volunteers.  We also have families, jobs and lives outside of rescue.  We do our best to communicate with our potential adopters, but please understand, we simply do not have the resources to contact every applicant personally.
